Royal Roads University English Language Programs

Royal Roads University's Global Learning and Language Centre (GLLC) offers programs that allow you to gain international experience and cross-cultural skills while improving your written and spoken English communications.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

EAP helps students improve their English language reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar skills so that they meet the entry requirements for their chosen program. Depending on students’ English language proficiency upon entry, they will be required to complete one, two or three semesters of EAP. After successful completion of this program, students will progress with confidence to International Year 1, Transfer Preparation Program (TPP) or Pre-Master's Program (PMP). Learn more

Transfer Preparation Program (TPP)

TPP helps students improve their English language and academic skills so that they can transfer directly into Year 3 of their chosen undergraduate degree program.

PMP helps students advance their English language, academic, critical thinking, presentation and interpersonal skills so that they are fully prepared to meet the demands of a master’s level program.

Business Essentials for Emerging Global Leaders

Designed for aspiring leaders seeking an immersive international education experience, this program blends professional and personal leadership, career coaching, team-based projects and field trips, and exposure to RRU’s award-winning Learning, Teaching and Research Model alongside business and workplace English. With intensive academic instruction from university faculty, participants will enhance their knowledge of global business and leadership practices to expand their career path, while heightening English and intercultural competencies. Summer Leadership Academy

Summer Leadership Academy students will gain leadership skills while heightening English and intercultural competencies. Blending experiential and challenge-based learning, this program actively engages students to apply their learning to actionable projects in teams with the objective of making positive change in the world, both locally and globally.
